Summertime Fun...and work.

I took Aiden to the zoo with Ashley and her little girl Aubrey a couple weeks ago, they had a lot of fun. Aiden wanted to have her hold his hand, and it was funny to see them get excited over feeding the goats and watching the other animals. Steve has been working tirelessly on the upstairs. The sheetrock was interesting because there are a lot of angles up there. These pictures are from about a week ago. I need to go up and get more pictures.

Aiden is enjoying summer. I think the longest sentence he regularly puts together is "wanna go out and kick da ball". We got a kiddie pool for him, but haven't been able to try it out yet, it's been rainy and cool here for the last little while. It seems like Aiden is learning things at an exponential rate lately. With a little help he can count to five. He recognizes the number four for some weird reason. If we pass it on a sign or if he sees it in a book he points and says Four! He's also picked up colors in the last week or so, he always gets red, blue and black right, but needs help with the others.

I've been enjoying having my own yard. The front flower bed looks amazing this year, and I just got some tomatoe plants into the garden.

I've also been staying busy helping Ririe with their craft fair for the Ririe Days Festival. If anyone wants to sell their crafts there, let me know. They are expecting a good turnout and they will have lots of other things going on like archery contests, live entertainment, a dutch oven cook off, a half marathon, car show etc. **okay my little plug is now ended**

Other than that I have been busy with Kindred Creations Deal of the Day. I have had enough orders lately that I set up commercial post with the post office. That will be nice, they pick the packages up at the house and you get a discount...nice!

I've also been training to run a half marathon that will be in Pocatello at the end of the summer. I usually take Aiden out with me in his jogging stroller in the morning. Two year olds that like speed are not the best running coaches. He always yells "Mom, faster!" And then when we get back to the house he tells me we should go again.

A Room With A View

We've been busy, busy here.
Steve has been working hard upstairs. We now have another window up there. It is a 3 ft. by 3ft. window, which brings in a lot of sunlight and makes the space seem a lot bigger. It is above the desk Steve is building for me for craft stuff and work.

Aiden knows that the room up here will be his and he talks about how he will "eep" (sleep) in his bed upstairs.

Steve also built me a raised garden for Mother's Day. I've been asking for one for a while, so it was a nice surprise. We've already planted early spring peas, beans and corn. Aiden discovered the first sprouts yesterday and was really excited. He reminds me to go out and water them everyday.

Aiden is picking up on new words all the time now, sometimes I wonder where he learned some of them. If he sees the camera he asks me to take a picture and he says cheese. This is one of those pictures.

He is also learning names of people and he will walk around the house going "Mom, Dad, Daiden (how he says his name). He always points to himself when he says his name. He also can tell you that he is two and hold up the right number of fingers. When he is leaving or someone else is, he says "bye, see ya later, love you" and tries to make the sign language sign for I love you.

Aiden's sense of humor has really been coming out lately. He thinks it is hilarious to take pictures of his "tazy hair" (crazy hair) and make faces.

Springtime!

Wow, weeks seem to be just flying by. It's finally feeling like spring here and our list of things to do just keeps getting longer. Steve is still working tirelessly on the attic. We will both be glad to get it done and feel like we can spend time together again. I've been working on organizing the house better and started with the kitchen. We had 5 whisks...I don't even use a whisk that often! Funny thing is I don't think we bought any of them either. I made a magnetic spice set to clear up some space. It's really handy because it is on the side of the fridge right next to the stove.

I've also been working in the yard and was so happy to see some of my crocuses coming up. The grass is also coming in well, considering last year it was all just dirt. There are a few bare patches, but some grass seed should get it filled in.

Aiden loved Easter this year. He had so much fun finding the eggs and eating the candy. I tried uploading the video of him Easter egg hunting five times and it just isn't working, but I got the one of him opening Lightening McQueen to upload.

A Wedding, Remodeling and a Haircut

It's been too long, since I posted here on the blog. We have been so busy!

Aiden and I went to St. George UT fromt the 16th-20th for Jenny's wedding (a cousin). The weather was absolutely beautiful. It was crazy to get on a plane in freezing weather and get off an hour and fifteen minutes later to 75 degrees.

Aiden really enjoyed playing with Anna, by the time we left he could say her name. I think Anna was ready for us to leave though, Aiden seemed to wear her out.

The wedding was beautiful. Unfortunately I did not get any good pictures. Aiden was kind of tired and being grumpy, so I didn't get to take too many and the ones I did take are blurry or have a hand (gee I wonder who's...his name starts with an A) in them.

Just before we left we gave Aiden another hair cut. I think this is his 7th! He was really good for it and held very still.

Steve has been working hard on the attic. It will eventually become Aiden's room. Almost all of the flooring is in. We will then be working on removing the shingles of the old roof. There seems to be mountains of insulation up there. Steve actually used the snow shovel to move it all to the other side of the room so he could work on some floor sections. It made me laugh when I saw him doing it.

How do you build Stairs?

That's what Steve and his Dad pondered for two weeks before finally figuring it out. Once it was figured out though they went in fast. Just two Saturdays of work and they are done!
