December Festivities

I feel bad I haven't gotten these pictures up before now. We've had a fun and eventful December. I am still working on getting Christmas pictures and videos uploaded, but they should be posted soon.

Autumn and Halloween Fun

We've taken a ton of pictures the last couple of weeks so enjoy the slide show!

This last week to celebrate Halloween, we went to the Pumpkin Patch, decorated cookies, and carved pumpkins. Friday there was a Trick or Treat party down by the river. They had games for the kids to play and of course candy. Aiden enjoyed the fishing game and the bean bag toss. Saturday we had a trunk or treat in the Church parking lot and then we headed to Ririe for a big Halloween party. They had a huge trunk or treat down Main St. a spook alley, cookies in the library, a pumpkin carving contest (which 3 of Steve's brothers won prizes from) and Hay rides (we missed the hayrides though).

It was a ton of fun and Aiden keeps asking if it is Halloween again.

Aiden's new room

Finally, Aiden has his own room! It feels like we have a new room too. We just finished putting up bookshelves and are still working on getting things the way we want them. I'll post pictures of it as soon as it's done.
In Aiden's room, we're still looking for a dresser or wardrobe that we like. It will go at the end of his bed, and a toy box that I ordered online is on it's way here. It is going to go at the other end of the bed. The book shelf will be painted white to match the rest of the furniture. I'm also making him a bedspread that is the same color blue as the curtains and will have red cars on it.
So far Aiden says he loves his room. We spend a lot of time up here, since my office area is just across from his room. The car mat is probably his favorite. He builds towers and buildings with blocks. Sets up his train set next to it along with some other toys and can spend hours playing "tars" and "choo, choo tains".

The Basement Stairwell is a Cave?!?!

Aiden watched a movie called Pooh's Grand Adventure. In it they go looking for Christopher Robin in a cave and they call into the cave and it echoes. Just after watching it he started doing this.

Here's another fun one. Aiden's version of Baseball.

Aiden's Dinosaur Birthday Party

Here are pictures from Aiden's party yesterday.
When the kids arrived they followed dinosaur footprints to a nest of dinosaur eggs. Then they got to dig the dinosaurs out. After that we played pin the tail on the dinosaur, and then did a pinata.

I made the pinatas because we couldn't find any dinosaur themed ones. I think they were a bit too strong though because we broke the wooden stick before the pinata broke!

Surgery and a New Shed

On the 21st of August Aiden had to go in to have surgery to put caps on all his molars because he grinds his teeth so much that he had worn the enamel off of them and was starting to get cavities. We had to be there at 5:30 in the morning and he couldn't have anything to eat or drink...he was a little grumpy about that.

The hospital was really nice though. Aiden was in the Jungle Room and he had fun looking for all the animals in the mural. They also have wagons for them to ride around in on their way to surgery.

It took him a long time to wake up. The surgery took only an hour, but we didn't leave the hospital until 10:00. He never really complained about his teeth, but really let everyone know that he did not like the IV in his foot. This is what his foot looked like a couple hours after we got home. They really did a good job and you couldn't even tell the IV had been there by that evening.
The coloring book, Teddy and wristband he got while there.
When he woke up they gave him a band-aid and told him to put it on the teddy bear where he hurt. Aiden put it on the bears foot.

This last weekend Steve put in our new shed including laying the concrete and anchoring it down. It's just big enough to hold the lawn mower and our gardening tools, but at least they aren't sitting out in the weather anymore.

Before we could put the shed in we had to move some huge tree stumps, clothes line poles and this old wringer washer out to the curb so the city could come get them. Aiden just had to help.

And finally a picture of our crazy tall corn plants. Looks like we are only going to get three ears of corn from them, but Aiden had fun planting them and watching them grow all summer long. The cucumber plant on the other hand way out did itself. I've been giving away cucumbers by the armload and we still have an entire vegetable drawer filled with them in the fridge. Looks like we'll have a ton of tomatoes too if they ever ripen. We also have two good sized watermelons growing. Hopefully they will have time to get nice and big before it gets too cold.

Dan and Leah Visit

Dan and Leah were here from Sunday August 2nd through Thursday the 6th. I know Aiden had a lot of fun. I hope Dan and Leah did too. Monday we walked over and fed the ducks, then we got Sno Cones. We also went to the library and played at the park.

Tuesday we went to the zoo. Aiden usually doesn't like to go in the pen with the goats, but he went with Leah. We also played at the playground and we had dinner a Leo's Place.

Wednesday we went to the Splash Park, rode the Carousel and walked around the BYU-I gardens.

Thursday Mom came up to pick Dan and Leah up. Aiden got to celebrate his birthday a little early. They got him some clothes and a trike. Aiden loves the trike we have to go on a couple walks everyday so that he gets to ride it.
